Watumite is one of the villages in Nangapanda sub-district, Ende, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This village has a postal code of 86352. Watumite has a population of mostly ethnic Flores. Most of the people in this village are farmers. The main agricultural products in this village are candlenut, cocoa, cloves, and vanilla. The area of Watumite village is 16 km2, and the area is about 7.51 Km2, or about 49.93% of the total area. The remaining 50.07% is forest land and also residents' agricultural fields. Watumite village topography varies from flat areas, undulating sloping, and also areas that are rather steep. Watumite village is located at an altitude of 831 MDPL (Sawu Sea). The total population of Watumite village in 2016 was 994 people consisting of 247 families. This number is spread over 6 community units and 12 neighborhood units.
The villagers of Watumite are 100% Roman Catholic. Watumite village also has customary standards by consisting of several ethnic groups. Among them are the Numba tribe, the L'dhea/Rea tribe, the Tonggu tribe, the L'dhodho tribe, and the Asa tribe. The Mosalaki/customary leader in Watumite Village is Mosalaki of the Numba tribe. Some traditions that are still carried out in Watumite Village include Pa'a Rera, Tu'a Eja, and Ngetam Padi.
Watumite village is about 10 KM from Trans Flores Road, located on the right side of the road after the direction of the Ende city gate (Border of Ende-Nagekeo Regency). So, even though it is geographically located in Nagekeo , Watumite Village is included in the administrative area of Ende Regency. On the other hand, the customs and culture of Watumite are more inclined to Nagekeo Regency. Watumite has not been electrified by PLN until now (2021). So, as an alternative, the villagers in each house use candles, lamps, or use solar cells as alternative power plants.
